Do you ever stop to think about your own relationship with food???
The one that comes up most often is either one of comfort or reward…
Usually both giving the same result… binging, overeating and emotional patterns
We often never even think to question why we are making the choices we are making…and what we associate with food
A game changer for me was assessing my relationship with food and seeing if it was a positive one or not
It seems like a simple tweak but I simply shifted my associations with food and I suddenly wanted certain food a lot less.
Instead of saying to myself, “I’ve had a bad day…” or “I’ve been good today”, which both end up with overeating instead, I shifted towards thinking of food as a way to connect with my body and feel the best I could feel!
Once I realised for sure that if I put good in, I got good out. The temptation of cookies, cakes and crisps became far less
Instead I reached for food that made ME feel focused, energised and alive
I would be lying if I said I never have chocolate anymore but I now choose when I want it rather than it being the crux I rely on
